Raman Fiber Amplifiers for Amplification of Single Frequency Narrowband Signals

MPBC’s Raman Fiber Amplifier System is capable of amplifying a narrow, linearly-polarized, near-IR input signal without spectrum broadening. NIR output powers of up to 8 Watts at wavelengths between 1030nm and 1340nm can be achieved in our standard air-cooled enclosure, with higher power available upon demand with our water-cooled enclosure. In addition, MPBC offers the option of converting the near-IR signal into the visible region using our Second Harmonic Generator. Output power up to 2 Watts are available for various wavelengths in the visible region.
The SF System consists of three modules:
- Raman Fiber Amplifier: Based on single-mode polarization-maintaining fiber, the RFA accepts a narrowband seed signal and amplifies it to a high power with minimum spectrum broadening
- Ytterbium Fiber Laser: Provides a high-intensity linearly polarized pump light needed for Raman Amplification
- Optional Second Harmonic Generator: Converts the frequency of the amplified signal to the visible spectrum with high efficiency
